FAQ

How difficult is the Mount Batur sunrise trek?

The Mount Batur trek is considered moderate in difficulty. The trail gains about 700 meters in elevation over roughly 2–3 hours of uphill hiking. It requires a reasonable level of fitness, but no technical climbing skills are needed. The path is well-marked and our private guide will set a pace suitable for your group. Most healthy adults with some walking experience can complete it. If you want the sunrise experience without the hike, our jeep tour packages are a great alternative.

The best time to trek Mount Batur is during Bali’s dry season, from April to October. During these months, skies are generally clear at sunrise, temperatures are cooler, and trails are dry. July and August are peak season — beautiful conditions but more hikers on the trail. The wet season (November to March) brings more cloud cover and occasional rain, though clear mornings are still possible. We operate year-round and will advise you on conditions when you book.

Mount Agung (3,142m) is a challenging trek and is best suited for guests with prior hiking experience. The ascent takes 5–7 hours and involves steep terrain, loose rocks, and significant altitude gain. Good physical fitness, proper hiking boots, and mental determination are essential. Our experienced local guides will brief you fully before departure and assess conditions on the day. If you’re newer to trekking, Mount Batur (1,717m) is a more accessible starting point.

Our ATV packages include the ATV quad bike rental, safety gear (helmet and gloves), a guide throughout the ride, and the ATV route through scenic Ubud jungle and rice field trails. For combo packages like Jeep + ATV or Trekking + ATV, the respective jeep or trekking components are also included with their standard inclusions. Hotel pickup and drop-off is available. No prior ATV experience is required — our guides will give you a full safety briefing and riding tutorial before you set off.

Yes, Bali’s white water rafting is beginner-friendly. The Ayung River in Ubud — where our ATV & Rafting combo takes place — is rated Grade II–III, meaning it has fun rapids without being dangerously technical. All guests wear life jackets and helmets, and professional rafting guides accompany every boat. No experience is required. The minimum age is typically 7 years old, and participants should be comfortable in water. It’s one of the most exciting ways to experience Bali’s jungle landscape.

Absolutely. We offer several combo packages designed to maximize your day: Mount Batur Trekking + Hot Spring, Mount Batur Trekking + Waterfall, Mount Batur Trekking + ATV, and Jeep Sunrise + ATV. We can also build a custom itinerary combining elements from multiple activities — for example, jeep tour in the morning, ATV in the afternoon, and dinner in Ubud. Just tell us what interests you via WhatsApp and we’ll put together the best combination for your schedule and budget.

Our Mount Batur Trekking & Waterfall package gives you a choice of two stunning waterfalls on the way back from the mountain: Kanto Lampo Waterfall or Tibumana Waterfall, both located near Ubud. Kanto Lampo is famous for its wide, tiered rock cascade — a favorite for photography. Tibumana is set deep in a lush jungle gorge and is generally less crowded. You can let us know your preference when booking, or ask your guide on the day for a recommendation based on current conditions.
